Local singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk will become the ambassador to the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s ‘Be My Hero’ campaign.
“The ‘Be My Hero’ campaign will make a significant difference in the lives of our children, now and for the future”, said Cheryl Lawson, Chair of the Foundation. “The campaign will raise $20 million to support the growth and sustainability at our research division, the Manitoba Institute of Child Health, where world class pediatric researchers are making substantial contributions to child health and child health research.”
Kreviazuk will be introduced Friday morning, along with other ‘heroes’ from the Winnipeg Police Service, Fire and Paramedic Service, and the Children’s Hospital.
The public launch will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the atrium of the John Buhler Research Centre, 715 McDermot Avenue.
The ‘Be My Hero’ capital campaign will allow MICH to double its space, provide new technologies, attract new researchers, and accommodate MICH researchers who are currently off-site.
