Aspiring songwriters gathered Wednesday at the Park Theatre for the Bluebird North Songwriters’ Showcase to hear from a handful of notable record producers and musicians.

Ismaila Alfa, Chris Burke-Gaffney, Arun Chaturvedi and Mike Petkau Falk are four established songwriters and record producers who shared their insights with up-and-coming artists in an informal, acoustic environment.

Burke-Gaffney, Chaturvedi and Petkau Falk are well-known in the local pop/rock realm, while Alfa is a familiar name in Winnipeg’s hip hop scene.

The showcase was put on by the Songwriters Association of Canada (S.A.C.). and also takes place in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa and St. John’s.

CURVE 94.3’s Pamela Roz emceed the event.
