A free public forum Tuesday night will look at how to clean and save Manitoba’s dying lakes.

Diane Orihel, a University of Alberta expert on Lake Stewardship, will host the forum to address how to rid the province’s lakes of algae blooms and other forms of contaminant that exist on Lake Winnipeg and Kilarney Lake.

Orihel has been recognized for her expertise in the Remediation of Eutrophic Prairie Lakes and Factors Controlling Mercury Bioaccumulation in Freshwater Fish.

Orihel will also advise concerned citizens as to how to pressure their government to take action.

The event will take place at the River Heights Community Centre, 1370 Grosvenor Avenue, beginning at 7 p.m.
