Manitoba’s biggest book club will reveal which title they’ve chosen for 2010 later this morning.
Over the summer, readers voted on four books written by local authors and published in Manitoba.
The four competing titles are:
— The Dead of Midnight, by Catherine Hunter
— Juliana and the Medicine Fish, by Jake MacDonald
— Beautiful Girl Thumb, by Melissa Steele
— An Ordinary Decent Criminal, by Michael Van Rooy
The book club is part of the “On the Same Page” initiative, created by the Winnipeg Foundation and Winnipeg Public Library to get Manitobans reading, and talking about, the same book at the same time.
The winning title will be revealed at a news conference at Fort Whyte Alive at 10:30 a.m.
UPDATE: 12:11 p.m. — “Juliana and the Medicine Fish” was chosen as the novel for the province-wide reading initiative.
