More than 160 delegates from business, government, labour and non-profit sectors across Canada will be in Winnipeg beginning today for a two-day forum looking at ways to reduce poverty.
The inaugural Poverty Reduction Partnership Forum will develop a deeper understanding of the impact poverty has and discuss ways Winnipeggers can address the issue as a community.
A number of speakers are scheduled for today and Friday at Canad Inns Polo Park, including Premier Greg Selinger, who will deliver the keynote address on Friday. Selinger is also expected to make a special announcement at that time.
The forum is being hosted by the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council.
