University of Manitoba president Dr. David Barnard is set to embark on a historic seven-day mission to India today.

The delegation with 15 other Canadian university and college presidents will work to forge mutually beneficial links between Canada and one of the world’s most dynamic economies.

University leaders will promote Canada’s lead in higher education and search, while Barnard will facilitate several important forums during the visit.

Outcomes of the mission — organized by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) — will be announced in the coming days.
