A two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening killed a 22-year-old man and sent another person to hospital.

The fatal collision happened at around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 8 and Grassmere Road in the RM of West St. Paul — a few kilometres north of the Perimeter Highway.

RCMP say a GMC pickup truck heading southbound on Highway 8 collided with an eastbound travelling Ford Taurus.

The West St. Paul man driving the Taurus was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 31-year-old Winnipeg Beach man driving the pickup was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the collision and continue to investigate.

The name of the deceased hasn’t been released.
