An estimated 1,500 people were up to see ladies pummel each other Saturday night, but not to worry, it was all in the name of sport.
The Winnipeg Roller Derby League held its Crushes & Carnage event at the Convention Centre and battled it out among three different teams for ultimate supremacy.
The league is drawing all sorts of attention these days for its in-your-face style and unique outfits, to the fascination people have with seeing ladies on roller skates push, shove and trip each other to the ground. Sounds like fun to us.
