Moose Sign Forward Jason Pitton to Tryout Contract

The Manitoba Moose have signed forward Jason Pitton to a professional tryout contract.

The 24-year-old is familiar with the Moose, having attended training camp with the team previously.

Pitton appeared in 11 games this season with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, scoring 11 points, as well as rounding up 34 penalty minutes. The 6’2″ Brampton, Ontario native has now played in 72 career games with Stockton, and in 161 games in the American Hockey League in his five-year pro career.

Pitton was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the eighth round, 244th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Moose will meet the Rockford IceHogs at home on Thursday and Friday, where over 12,500 tickets have already been sold.
