Registered children’s charities can now apply for funding through the Winnipeg Goldeyes Fields of Dreams Foundation until December 17.
The funding is open to charities throughout Manitoba for funds raised during the 2010 season. All requests must be submitted on Goldeyes.com, and include the nature of the organization, the specific amount being requested and what the funds will be used for.
More than $1.2 million has been raised by the foundation for childrens’ charities in the province since 1995. A number of initiatives put in place by the Goldeyes help these charities succeed, such as the team’s annual golf tournament, the Fillmore Riley Ks For Kids promotion, TCBY pitch speed booth proceeds, memorabilia auctions, the Manitoba Pork Piggy Bank and the sale of 50/50 tickets at all home games. A donation is also made by Lawton Partners to the Field of Dreams Foundation every time the Goldeyes hit a home run at home.
Charitable organizations will be notified in writing once all funding decisions have been made.
