Winnipeg’s Agape Table is celebrating 30 years with a 24-hour social media fundraiser that launches today.
This morning, Agape Table outlined its new programming and philosophy, and talked about how its community has embraced several recently introduced, innovative hunger sustenance programs that empower members.
The community nutrition centre serves free hot meals to people in the inner city each day, making up its two million meals dished out since opening in 1980.
Agape Table’s recent launch into social media has enabled it to reach a broader audience in a new medium. To mark its 30th anniversary event, Agape Table wants to raise $3,000 in 24 hours via Facebook and Twitter by 10 a.m. on Friday.
For details on how to make a donation and help Agape reach their goal, visit their Facebook and Twitter pages.
