A history professor from the University of Oxford will give this year’s W.L. Morton Distinguished Lecture at the University of Manitoba tonight.
Margaret MacMillan, the Warden of St Antony’s College and a Professor of International History, will deliver her lecture, “Handle With Care; History’s Uses and Abuses.”
The evening will cover how history is essential to understanding our world, but how it can also be dangerously misused.
MacMillan is also an established author, with such books to her name as “Women of the Raj,” “Six Months that Changed the World,” and her most recent, “The Uses and Abuses of History.”
The lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. in Great Hall, University College, 220 Dysart Road, on the U of M’s Fort Garry campus.
