A hunting accident has left a 43-year-old man in critical, but stable condition in hospital over the weekend.

RCMP say a 17-year-old boy allegedly shot the man by accident in the RM of Piney on Saturday at about 6 p.m.

The man was taken to Roseau Hospital in Minnesota, before being transferred to the Health Sciences Centre.

Charges against the teen are being contemplated.

This is the second accidental shooting in recent days that RCMP are investigating. On Saturday afternoon, a 59-year-old man was shot in the RM of Ritchot while preparing to butcher livestock with two other men. He remains in critical, but stable condition.
