Tenants of The Forks Market’s Merchants’ Association are kicking off their annual campaign to help the Christmas Cheer Board this morning.

The Forks has been collecting unwrapped toys to place into Christmas hampers for ten years to create the Tower of Toys.

Each year the tower grows bigger with donations, and The Forks is challenging the public to join in with their generosity by donating a new unwrapped toy to the cause.

“Last year, the tower kept growing taller and taller. By the time all of the toys were gathered up and sent to the Christmas Cheer Board there were over $12,000 worth of toys,” said Joyce Gittins, chair of The Forks Market Tower of Toys campaign.

The goal this year is to fill the tower with over 500 items and raise the toys beyond the second floor.

An official launch takes place at 10:30 a.m. near the tower elevator in centre court.
