A special one-night promotion at this evening’s Manitoba Bison basketball games is hoping to attract more students to fill the seats of the Investors Group Athletic Centre.
Students with a valid student ID will receive with their $5 admission a free T-shirt, provided by Home Run Sports, and a $4 concession voucher.
The idea is to create a student section at the games and round up on-campus support for Bison Sports. “We want to create an even larger and more energetic atmosphere at IGAC and help add to an already good life for University of Manitoba students,” said Bison men’s basketball head coach Kirby Schepp.
The Bisons face provincial rivals the Brandon Bobcats at 6 p.m. (women) and 8 p.m. (men) to complete the first half of their 2010-11 basketball season.
To reserve a T-shirt in advance, students can e-mail bisonssuperfans@gmail.com. News of other upcoming promotions will be posted on the Bisons’ Facebook page.
Tonight and Saturday is also Filipino Night at the Bisons games. Printing off this Facebook page will get you two for one admission (up to four) redeemable at the door.
The Bisons will host a rematch with the Bobcats on Saturday night at the same times.
