RCMP are searching for four adult men who were travelling on an unopened winter road, but never made it to their final destination.
The men left Pukatawagan for The Pas in two vehicles on Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m., but didn’t make it. They have not contacted family and attempts are being made to locate them.
The missing men have been identified as Marcel Caribou, Stanley Castel, Paul Colomb and Ronald Dumas. They were reported to have been driving a burgundy 4×4 truck and a blue 1993 Chevrolet Suburban.
RCMP are reminding motorists not to use winter roads that haven’t been officially open.
Anyone who may know the whereabouts of the men are asked to call Pukatawagan RCMP at (204) 553-2342.
UPDATE: RCMP say the family of Ronald Dumas spoke to him this afternoon. Officers haven’t spoken to Dumas themselves, but say it’s consistent that he made it across the winter road. Efforts to account for the three other men are continuing.
UPDATE 2: Thursday, December 2 — All four men have been safely located.
