A group of Winnipeg police officers, former NHL players and local media came together Thursday night in the name of charity.
A fun hockey game at the Billy Mosienko Arena helped raise money for the North End Hockey Program, which works to ensure deserving youth have the opportunity and resources to take to the ice themselves.
Funds raised from the evening will go to assist 115 youth to access equipment, training and provide transportation to their games.
The initiative further invests in inner-city community sports programs and works to keep children off the streets.
