
Manitoba Legislative Building (CHRISD.CA)
The Manitoba Legislative Building will welcome the public on Saturday for its annual open house.
Premier Greg Selinger, cabinet ministers and MLAs will greet visitors from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The lieutenant-governor’s formal reception room, known as the Blue Room, will also be open for public viewing.
Choirs from École Guyot, Luxton School, John de Graff Elementary School and John Taylor Collegiate and the Air Command Band vocal quartet VoxAir will perform on the grand staircase. A choir of MLAs, led by Speaker of the legislature George Hickes, will perform at 3 p.m.
Face painting and craft stations from Art City and Manitoba Hydro’s Louie the Lightning Bug will be set up in Room 254 for children of all ages. Lightbulb the Clown will perform from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Festive season photos will be taken in the Rotunda on the second floor and Santa Claus will make a special appearance at 1:30 p.m.
All visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped toy for the Christmas Cheer Board.
