A woman has been taken to hospital after a serious two-vehicle collision just south of Steinbach.
The crash happened Monday at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 303. RCMP say the woman driving a Toyota Corolla heading eastbound was hit by a southbound Ford Escape while attempting to cross the intersection.
The male driver of the Escape was taken to Steinbach Hospital, but was released after being treated for only minor injuries.
The woman has been transferred to hospital in Winnipeg with life threatening injuries.
Police had closed the intersection for several hours while they investigated, but it has since reopened to traffic.
No further information is available at this time.
