Minneapolis’ Metrodome Collapses Under Heavy Snowfall

December 13, 2010 6:50 AM | News

An overnight snowstorm in Minnepolis Saturday destroyed the roof of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

Watch:

The inflatable roof collapsed under the weight of about 43 cm of snow.

The facility was set to host the Vikings’ game against the New York Giants on Sunday, but was moved to Detroit’s Ford Field as a result of the roof collapse.

No one was injured in the incident, and reports say it will take several days to repair.

The storm that hit the Twin Cities was the biggest since October 31, 1991.
