In an effort to get New Year’s revelers home safely on December 31, Winnipeg Transit has partnered with Molson Coors Canada again this year to offer free rides home.
The “Taking You Home for the Holidays” initiative applies to regular and Handi-Transit service starting at 7 p.m. on the 31st. The last bus will leave downtown at 1:38 a.m.
In 2009, more than 10,000 people took advantage of a free ride and got home safely.
The initiative was launched on the same day RCMP reported 36 impaired driving arrests throughout Manitoba since beginning their Holiday Check Stop Program.
