ALS House to Be Lit Wednesday Evening

December 14, 2010 7:04 AM | News

After several Vincent Massey Collegiate students set up Christmas trees outside the Brummitt-Feasby ALS House last week, an official lighting ceremony will take place to Lite Up A Life.

The ALS Society of Manitoba is currently taking donations for bulbs on the tree, which are $5 for three bulbs or $10 for seven bulbs. All money raised stays in Manitoba and goes to support those living with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease. If you’re feeling extra generous, you can light up an entire tree with 150 bulbs for $150.

The lighting ceremony at 106 Kirby Drive is open to the public and will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Donations can be made at the house, or at the ALS Society of Manitoba, 493 Madison Street.

For more information and to make a donation, call (204) 831-1510 or e-mail hope@alsmb.ca.

The Brummitt-Feasby ALS House provides care and support for people living with ALS, and is the only house of its kind in North America.
