A three-vehicle collision just east of Souris, Manitoba has sent three people to hospital.

The crash happened at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 2 between a semi-trailer truck and two SUVs.

RCMP say a Chevrolet Blazer was heading eastbound at the time when it collided with a westbound semi.

The collision caused both vehicles to go into the ditch, where a GMC Envoy that had previously gone off the road, was also hit.

The 37-year-old Melita man driving the semi was not injured.

The 39-year-old Souris woman driving the Envoy was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

Two people in the Blazer, a 52-year-old woman and her 21-year-old male passenger, were both transferred to hospital with serious, undetermined injuries. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.

RCMP say road conditions at the time were snow packed, with blowing snow and reduced visibility.
