Three representatives from Winnipeg Harvest will join Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s performance of “Nutcracker” in the coming days.

The RWB was impressed with the food bank’s ‘Hunger for Hope’ CFL Pepsi Refresh Challenge, where Winnipeg Blue Bomber Luke Fritz eventually won $50,000 for Harvest.

In an effort to further alleviate hunger in Manitoba, the RWB is inviting Fritz, along with executive director David Northcott and co-chief executive officer Gordon Pollard to be part of the performance.

The three will step into the Nutcracker’s party scene on Sunday, December 26, Monday, December 27 and Thursday, December 23 at 2 p.m., respectively.

RWB hopes drawing attention to Winnipeg Harvest and their important work will encourage Manitobans to donate to the cause. Donation bins to be set up in the lobby of the Centennial Concert Hall throughout the run of RWB’s Nutcracker. Non-perishable food items are encouraged for donation.

The Nutcracker runs December 22 to 29. Tickets start at $30 and are available through the RWB at 380 Graham Avenue or by calling (204) 956-2792. Tickets are also available through Ticketmaster.
