The Manitoba Trucking Association presented Transportation Minister Steve Ashton with a meaningful work of art on Thursday.

The MTA commissioned local artist Glenn Hayes to create the depiction of a transport truck titled “Driven to Succeed.”

The illustration honours the roots of trucking in Manitoba, incorporating elements of the industry from the past and looking forward to the future. It captures how Manitoba is the place where east meets west, urban meets rural and the past meets the present.

The painting will hang in the minister’s office to serve as a reminder of the economic role trucking plays in the province.
