Winnipeg’s Corus Entertainment radio stations are getting ready to move from their longtime headquarters on Portage Avenue to the former CTV Winnipeg building at Polo Park.
Construction on a new facility for CJOB, Power 97 and Groove FM began in March and will include state-of-the-art equipment in a much larger environment.
On Monday, crews were putting up signage on the outside of the building.
The move is overdue for CJOB, as the #1 radio station in the city has been broadcasting from its 930 Portage Avenue building since the 1960s.
Staff are expected to begin moving in on February 21.
General Manager Garth Buchko says things are progressing extremely well on the new studios.
“Obviously we won’t throw the switch open on the new studios until they are truly ready,” Power 97 program director Matt Cundill added in an e-mail late Monday.
