Staff at the University of Manitoba’s Frank Kennedy Centre were cleaning up Monday after a water main break.
The east end of the Gritty Grotto gym was flooded on Sunday, resulting in the closure of the running track.
In a statement from Bison Sport and Active Living, they said the water was clean tap water, but was still tested for any residual hazards.
The damage was minimal, but about two to three feet of drywall was removed from the south strength room to prevent mould growth.
The cardio and resistance equipment was not affected, and the rest of the gym remains open and operational.
Runners still looking for an available track are being offered the Max Bell Centre track between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily until Wednesday.
