Many people may be unfamiliar with kiteboarding, but the concept is a popular winter pastime for snowboarders and skiers who want to propel themselves in the air, and across snow and ice in a different way.

As the sport gains traction locally, Oak Hammock Marsh wants to educate those interested on how to master it.

In partnership with Boost Kiteboarding, the Marsh is offering lessons to novice kiteboarders on Saturday, January 7 from 10 a.m. to noon.

This course is limited to six participants and costs $69 per person.

Registration at least three days prior to the course date is required. Call (204) 467-3300 for further information.
