If skating is a pastime of yours during the winter, the expanded Duck Pond at Assiniboine Park will open up in early January.
The Duck Pond will remain closed until further notice, as staff have yet to properly clear, flood and level the surface. Lighting and matted paths are also being installed.
While you’re waiting for the rink to open — which will be double in size — the Assiniboine Park Conservancy has opened a new family toboggan run beside the pond. The park’s cross-country ski trails are also now open throughout the holiday season.
