The Transportation Safety Board is investigating following a fatal plane crash about 5 km northwest of Boissevain on Wednesday.

RCMP say the small single-engine Cessna aircraft went down shortly after 2 p.m. in a farmer’s field in the RM of Morton.

The pilot was the only occupant in the plane at the time and did not survive.

The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Art Peters — a farmer in the area.

Details on the plane’s route at the time are not known.

Boissevain is located about one hour south of Brandon.
