Getting home safe on New Year’s Eve is nothing to think about after a night of partying.
Winnipeg Transit is ensuring revellers arrive home in one piece by offering free rides beginning at 7 p.m. until the last bus leaves downtown at 1:38 a.m.
The City of Winnipeg partnered with Molson Coors Canada to make the courtesy rides happen, which 10,000 Winnipeggers took advantage of last year.
While your bus ride may be free tonight, fares will officially go up January 1, as announced back in November.
The regular fare will be $2.40 — an increase of five cents.
