Flash Mob Invades Polo Park for a Cause

There’s something about flash mobs that get Winnipeggers talking. First it was the Christmas-themed mob at Kildonan Place on December 18 (15,000+ YouTube views, by the way), and now another mob has attempted to garner the same attention.

On Wednesday, about 100 dancers converged in centre court at Polo Park Shopping Centre for the launch of the Move ‘N Groove-a-Thon 2011 fundraiser.

Organizers were hoping the flash mob event would be kept quiet prior to the launch, but other media pre-promoted it and somewhat ruined the surprise.

Nevertheless, the demonstration was a kick off to a campaign to raise $100,000 for the Movement Centre of Manitoba, an organization that works to improve the physical health of children and adults with physical disabilities.
