A snowshoe tour east of Winnipeg will be both educational and a form of exercise on Sunday, January 16.
The activity will take visitors on a tour of Old Pinawa Dam Provincial Heritage Park and the Trans-Canada Trail, and will show outdoor enthusiasts that there is much more to the Pinawa area than just cross-country skiing in the winter.
Barret Miller will lead the tour for an interpretive snowshoe walk around the Dam, and the section of the Trans-Canada Trail south of the Park from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Pre-registration is required by calling (204) 612-3872 or e-mailing bmiller@fortwhyte.org.
Participants are asked to meet at the Old Pinawa Dam and Provincial Road 520.
The event is being put on by Nature Manitoba.
