The Winnipeg Goldeyes have purchased the contract of infielder Amos Ramon from the Lake County Fielders of the North American League and signed him to a contract for the 2011 season.

Ramon, 27, started his pro career with the Goldeyes in 2006, appearing in 10 games and completing his collegiate career at Louisiana Tech. He hit .303 and added five RBI in those 10 games.

With the Fielders, he was an all-star third baseman last season after hitting .316 with eight home runs and 57 RBI in 92 games.

The team also announced they have sent the rights to left-handed starting pitcher Jason Mackintosh to the Chico Outlaws of the North American League for the rights to outfielder Tim Rodriguez. The Goldeyes then traded Rodriguez to the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League for a player to be named later.
