A mini-festival featuring the musical works of Johannes Brahms will be presented over a two-day period this week at the University of Manitoba.

The Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music will hold two concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday, with quartets, duets, and solos, as well as a special student presentation from a string quartet plus piano.

The concert on Tuesday begins at 7:30 p.m. and will include vocal performances by faculty members Monica Huisman, Lois Watson-Lyons, Robert MacLaren, Mel Braun, David Klassen, and Rosemarie van der Hooft, accompanied by Laura Loewen on the piano.

Wednesday’s concert is at 12:30 p.m. and will include a duet on cello and piano by Minna Rose Chung and David Moroz, as well as a movement from the Brahms piano quintet (piano and string quartet) led by 4th-year student Renate Rossol on piano.

Both concerts take place in Eva Clare Hall at the Faculty of Music, 65 Dafoe Road. Admission is free.
