The large excavated hole at the University of Manitoba is beginning to look more like a construction project after the first of several steel piles were driven into the ground last week on the future site of the new football stadium.
“It’s very exciting, with the piles in place soon you will begin to see the structure rise from the ground and the new stadium will take shape,” said Jeff Thompson, Chief Transition Officer. “There is a lot of activity on site, and everything is on track,” he added.
Fans can keep an eye on the site developments leading up to the 2012 CFL season by viewing a live feed at BlueBombers.com.
The Winnipeg Football Club also announced Wednesday that the Winnipeg Sun Centre on the second floor of the current Blue Bomber office will be transformed into a corporate preview centre. The centre will allow for corporate partners, premium seat holders and season ticket holders to view the various seating options, suite designs and hospitality amenities that will be featured at the new stadium.
All season tickets holders for the 2011 season will be given preferred access to season tickets at the new stadium.
