Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ front office staff will begin mentoring a group of students from Junior Achievement of Manitoba in a new partnership program announced Friday.

The JA organization excels at inspiring and educating young Canadians to experience free enterprise, understand business and economics, and develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

The high school students will meet weekly at Canad Inns Stadium to learn about the process of owning and operating their own business.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will also host a Field Day at the stadium where company program students will rotate through various focus group sessions and provide input into the Bombers’ business strategy from a youth perspective.

“The Winnipeg Football Club has always valued the youth of our province as evident by our commitment to grassroots football and by putting our players, coaches and mascots into our communities,” said Blue Bomber President Jim Bell. “We feel that our youth of today will be the leaders of tomorrow and we feel very privileged to be able to help mentor them.”
