Local painter Tom Lovatt will explore the work of Colombian artist Fernando Botero during an upcoming talk at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Lovatt will also look at Botero’s historical influences in the planned talk and tour, included with admission to the exhibition The Baroque World of Fernando Botero on Sunday, February 13 at 2 p.m.

“Fernando Botero is a brilliant colourist, highly skilled technician, and an artist who has stayed true to his own personal vision,” said WAG Director Stephen Borys. “Everything is big about his work, the people, the animals, the fruit and our visitors have been responding to it with great enthusiasm.”
