Winnipeg Harvest will ask the public on Thursday to help the food bank raise $2 million.
Harvest is expanding its operations to include the Winnipeg Harvest Food Distribution and Training Centre, which they say is urgently needed to deal with escalating hunger in Manitoba.
The $6.5 million campaign began last June with a $4.5 million investment from the provincial and federal governments.
Officials with Winnipeg Harvest will hold a news conference tomorrow morning to ask for assistance in raising the remaining cash.
