The world’s largest mobile rink refrigeration unit will be on display Saturday in anticipation for the 2011 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic.

A special fan event is planned at the Canadian Tire on McPhilips Street to promote the upcoming outdoor matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames.

The 53-foot custom-built trailer houses the specialized equipment that will be used to make the rink for the event, and is travelling the country on a 3,500 km journey.

The tour will stop in Calgary on February 9 as the truck arrives at McMahon Stadium to begin the rink build.

Kris King, Vice President of NHL Hockey Operations, will be on hand to greet fans from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The game airs Sunday, February 20 at 5 p.m. CT on CBC.
