Tonight’s Manitoba Bison women’s hockey game will get off to an interesting start, as the team finishes up some business started back in November.
Prior to their game with the Calgary Dinos, the Bisons will have to complete a shootout from a November 12 game with the same team.
In the incomplete game, Calgary had three shooters who had already taken a shot in the shootout but did not score. The game will resume with Manitoba required to take their third shot in the shootout and, if they score, a win will be recorded for the Bisons.
The completed game will resume at 7 p.m. at the Max Bell Arena before the start of the weekend series.
The Bisons will then play in a two-game series tonight and tomorrow in a battle for a top spot in Canada West standings. The Bisons have a slight advantage over the Dinos as it is, sitting fifth in the latest CIS poll, with Calgary sitting in seventh.
Next door at Investors Group Athletic Centre, the Manitoba Bison men’s and women’s volleyball teams begin a two-night matchup with Calgary at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.
