Snow Plow Hits Hydro Pole, Traffic Snarled on St. Mary’s

February 4, 2011 2:53 PM | News

Police closed part of St. Mary’s Road to southbound and northbound traffic after hydro lines came down Friday afternoon.

A front end loader clearing snow snagged wires on a pole shortly after noon.

Watch (With bonus footage of some horrible drivers):

Pedestrians and motorists were asked to avoid the stretch of St. Mary’s between Lyndale Drive and Champlain Street while crews cleaned up.

If that wasn’t enough, a Manitoba Hydro truck sent out to repair the wires was involved in an accident near the scene. According to our videographer, it was T-boned by a delivery truck. There were no injuries.
