A new play at the Manitoba Theatre Centre will question Mennonite faith.

“The Shunning” is the story of a man, who when he begins to wonder about his faith, is shunned by the rest of the community for doing so. Peter is left isolated and alone, with even his wife having to ignore his existence.

Manitoba poet and playwright Patrick Friesen is behind the play, which runs February 10 to March 5 in the John Hirsch Theatre.

The cast includes Mike Shara as Peter Neufeld, and Daria Puttaert as Peter’s wife. Other cast include Murray Farnell, Kevin Klassen and Rob McLaughlin.

Tickets are $26.25 to $63 at the MTC Box Office by calling (204) 942-6537. Students with valid high school ID receive 50% off single ticket adult prices for all performances. For showtimes, visit MTC.mb.ca.
