Blue Bombers Join Kenora Chamber of Commerce

February 8, 2011 12:24 PM | Sports

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have joined the Chamber of Commerce a province away.

The football club announced Tuesday they are now part of the Kenora District Chamber of Commerce. Part of the reason comes from the club’s contribution to Football Manitoba, which benefits minor football in both provinces.

The club has shelled out more than $1 million to the program over the past ten years.

“With this new appointment, we’re excited about the relationships we will build with the city of Kenora as we continue to reach out to Bomber fans all over Manitoba and Western Ontario,” said Blue Bomber President Jim Bell.

The Winnipeg Football Club will be in Kenora on Wednesday to attend the Chamber Dinner. On Thursday, several Blue Bomber players will be speaking to students at Lakewood School and will challenge the varsity basketball teams to a game.
