The case of three Filipino men seeking to remain in Canada is in limbo after it was put over again on Wednesday.
Arnisito Gaviola, Antonio Laroya and Ermie Zotomayor, known as the ‘Three Amigos,’ will have to wait until March 15 to learn their fate.
Two of the three men appeared at an afternoon news conference to explain their situation.
Watch:
The men haven’t been able to work since they were arrested in June on improper paperwork relating to their employment at a gas station in Thompson.
Lawyer David Matas has previously said the mens’ fate remains with the Temporary Resident Permit applications they submitted to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Supporters for the men are in the process of arranging online donations for the three at 3AmigosCampaign.com. Because of their employment status, the men haven’t been able to send money back home to their families in the Philippines. A fundraiser was held last weekend to assist financially until their case can move through the courts.
