This year’s Taste of the Nation event has named two honourary chefs in recognition of their generous sponsorship.

Gennie and Oliver Plett were named to the honour on Tuesday in preparation for the 18th annual charitable event put on by Share Our Strength.

Taste of the Nation will feature 30 of the finest local restaurants, giving Winnipeggers a chance to sample great food while supporting programs to alleviate hunger and poverty in Winnipeg and around the world.

This year’s event will be held at The Fairmont Winnipeg on Monday, April 11 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $80 through Ticketmaster, with all proceeds going back into the community.

The second event Share Our Strength hosts each year will be the Chef’s Dinner on Sunday, April 3 at Four Points by Sheraton, Winnipeg South.
