U of M Bisons Have Sights Set on Playoff Spot

February 11, 2011 7:12 AM | Sports

The Manitoba Bison men’s hockey team will attempt to make the most out of what’s left of their regular season this weekend.

The Bisons host the UBC Thunderbirds in a matchup tonight and Saturday at Max Bell Arena. The two-game set at home will be a push for the Bisons to make a playoff spot.

Watch:

The Bisons have three weeks remaining in the season and will host the next four of their last six games, giving them the momentum of home ice advantage.

As it stands, Manitoba holds a 7-2-1 record at home and are ranked ninth in the latest CIS poll — UBC is unranked.

The last time the Bisons met UBC was in November, where the Herd lost two games in a row.

This weekend series begins at 7 p.m. both nights.
