Snowmobile enthusiasts will rev their engines bright and early Saturday morning in Beausejour.

The 4th annual Sled for Eternity is a charity snowmobile ride hosted by Teen Challenge of Central Canada. Hundreds of snowmobilers are taking part, with $35,000 in prizes up for grabs to derby winners and top fundraisers.

“This snowmobile derby isn’t the ordinary run of the mill winter ride, it’s a fundraiser aimed at providing residential care for men seeking freedom from life-controlling addiction,” executive director Steve Paulson said in a release.

Over 200 snowmobilers from across Manitoba will follow the groomed trails through the forests and lakes north of Beausejour with checkpoints at Seddon’s Corner, Lac du Bonnet and Pine Falls before heading back to Beausejour.

The derby will begin at the Brokenhead River Recreation Centre at 9 a.m. Registration is $25 for adults or $10 for children under 12. A current 2010-2011 Snopass is required to participate.
