Members of the Manitoba Moose will play a game of shinny on a homemade outdoor rink this afternoon.
Ryan Southern, Regan Windsor, and their son Carter constructed a backyard rink at their home in Sanford, Manitoba as part of a contest put on by the Moose and Home Depot.
To help break the rink in, 15 neighbourhood kids will meet Guillaume Desbiens, Eddie Lack, Jordan Schroeder, Kevin Connauton, Shawn Weller, and Mark Flood for a one-hour game of shinny at 3 p.m.
The Southern’s rink is 30’ x 50’ feet and features blue and red lines, a Moose logo emblazoned on centre ice, and the names and numbers of all current Manitoba Moose players displayed on the rink’s end boards.
