A workshop tonight at New Media Manitoba will look at QR codes — you know, those weird-looking black bars within a white-framed square box?
Attendees will learn the history of QR codes, how to make and apply them, how to use them and learn about their soaring popularity in Canada.
QR codes have been popping up everywhere as businesses utilize them in their marketing strategies to generate buzz and an interest in their products.
The session will be run by Erica Glasier, a Winnipeg marketer, illustrator and visual artist working with interactive, social and mobile media.
There is no charge to attend, but registration is required through the New Media Manitoba website. The session will begin at 7 p.m.
You can follow along with the discussion by using #nmmqr as the hashtag on Twitter.
